Y’all know I love a good farmers market, so I absolutely had to check out the one every Sunday near our current hotel here in San Rafael. From fresh veggies to produce, to foodie delights, I love taking a Sunday morning stroll through any farmers market.
What to Expect
The market is decently sized, but definitely walkable. There are two areas for seating, but they were constantly filled. We had to stand at a table, whose chairs had disappeared, whilst we ate. Like any farmers market there were a variety of vendors with seasonal spreads, cheesemakers, flower tents and made to order goodies. We took a chance and skipped breakfast in hopes of finding something delicious there. We were not disappointed.
Types of Vendors
Like I mentioned, the vendors varied from produce to meat to a few local cheese makers. We tried some delicious Paté, as well as scooped up a fresh loaf of garlic cheese bread. Shishito peppers were in season, as well as stone fruit and beans. There were several flower shops and we picked up a gorgeous bouquet for $10!
Rare Oddities
I loved that there was a Dim Sum tent and I had exactly that. The rarest tent, was serving up different duck and chicken paté’s with a duck rillette. It was heaven and I almost want to go back next Sunday just to get some. There were purple bean varieties, as well as a few local olive oil makers. I almost went with a swordfish gyro, because that was something I’d never seen before!
My Favorite Part
Like I mentioned, my favorite part was the dim sum, but the paté came in at a hot second.
