No matter where we are in the world, taking a cooking class is something I love doing. Most of the time it’s to learn about the local food fare, but sometimes it’s because I just want to have a friend date and learn some new skills. The adventures of Molly and Alyssa begin with Kitchen on Fire: Sushi Making Class. So Excited!
Starting Class
We began class by learning how to pick cuts of sushi-grade fish, where to find it and the types of questions to ask a seller to insure you’re receiving quality product.
Then Chef Gaby showed us how to make: Sushi inside and outside rolls, nigiri, sashimi and little boats.
Duration of Class
After we learned the basics, off we went! We were able to freely make as many rolls as we could eat. We would make a roll, eat it, drink some wine and make another. Chef Gaby toured the classroom giving instruction and constructive criticism.
