You’ve heard me gush over my love for oysters, so of course one of my favorite places in the city is Hog Island Oyster Company, situated inside the Ferry Building Marketplace near the Embarcadero. This has become a staple lunch for my bestie and I anytime we head into the city to hang out. Besides Oysters, their menu is stellar.
We stuck to California only oysters, and the Hog Islands are mild and delicious. They even have Crystals Hot Sauce! Because it’s the best… let’s be honest.
We had Cowgirl Creamery grilled cheese, fresh clam salad and squid salad with warm beans. The menu changes periodically, but doesn’t disappoint.
Although we had to wait in a 45 minute line, we were able to be served drinks IN LINE. It was a beautiful moment. I started with watermelon wake, which is vodka, watermelon and Thai chilis. Molly had a gin sea drink, which had an interesting addition of seaweed.
